    (6 marks)

    Marking scheme

(a)(i) "O my son, do not associate [anything] with Allah. Indeed, association [with Him] is a great injustice (dhulmun adhim)." (Q31:13) (a)(ii) Shirk is the gravest wrong because it places others in the position of the One who created and sustains everything; it denies Allah His exclusive right to be worshipped, and it is the one sin Allah does not forgive if a person dies upon it (Q4:48). Wronging Allah's right is therefore the greatest dhulm. (b) Two manners from Q31:18-19 (any two, 1 mark each): - Do not turn your cheek (in arrogance) away from people / do not walk in pride on the earth, for Allah does not love the arrogant boaster. - Be moderate in your pace (walking) and lower your voice; the harshest of voices is the braying of donkeys.
