    (6 marks)

    Marking scheme

    (a) A player may hold the ball for a maximum of three (3) seconds before passing or shooting. (b) The two positions allowed to shoot are the Goal Shooter (GS) and the Goal Attack (GA). Only these players, when standing inside the shooting circle, may attempt a goal. (c) Footwork (the pivot rule): When a player receives the ball, the foot that lands first (the landing foot) becomes the pivoting foot. The player may step or pivot on this foot in any direction but must not lift and re-ground it before passing or shooting. Dragging or lifting the landing foot and replacing it before releasing the ball is a footwork infringement, which gives the opposing team a free pass.
