    (a) Shirk (associating partners with Allah / ascribing to others powers that belong to Allah alone). (1 mark) (b) It is the gravest sin because it contradicts Tawheed, the foundation of Islam, and Allah declares it the only sin He will not forgive if one dies upon it – 'Indeed, Allah does not forgive associating partners with Him, but He forgives anything less than that for whom He wills' (Surah An-Nisa 4:48). It amounts to giving the rights of the Creator to creation. (2 marks) (c) Any three (1 mark each): - Worship Allah alone and seek help and protection only from Him. - Avoid fortune-tellers, charms, amulets and superstitious practices. - Recite and act upon the Qur'an and authentic supplications (du'a) for protection. - Increase knowledge of the religion and keep good Muslim company.
