The River

The river flows through the valley wide,

With fish and frogs swimming side by side.

It nourishes the land with its gentle touch,

And gives us water, oh so much.

But man has poisoned its crystal stream,

With waste and filth, a terrible dream.

The fish now float upon the surface still,

And silence reigns where birds once sang their fill.

Oh river, river, hear our plea,

Forgive us for what we've done to thee.

We promise to keep your waters clean,

The purest waters ever seen.
