Once upon a time, there lived a wealthy man who had three sons. When he grew old and weak, he called his sons to his bedside. He gave each of them a bundle of sticks and asked them to break the bundles.

The first son tried with all his strength but could not break his bundle. The second son also failed. The third son, who was the youngest, also could not break his bundle.

The old man then asked them to untie the bundles and try breaking the sticks one by one. Each son easily broke the individual sticks. The old man smiled and said, 'My sons, when you are united like the bundle of sticks, no one can defeat you. But if you are divided, you will be broken easily, just like the single sticks.'

The three brothers understood their father's wisdom and promised to always stay united. After their father passed away, they worked together and became the most respected family in the village.
