Nutrition is essential for a healthy life. A balanced diet includes proteins, carbohydrates, vitamins, and minerals. Proteins help build and repair body tissues. Carbohydrates provide energy for daily activities.

Vitamins and minerals are needed in small amounts but play vital roles. Vitamin C helps fight infections while iron helps carry oxygen in the blood. Without proper nutrition, the body becomes weak and susceptible to diseases.

Many children in rural areas suffer from malnutrition because their families cannot afford a variety of foods. School feeding programmes have helped improve the health of many students. These programmes provide at least one nutritious meal per day.
