Read the passage below and answer the questions that follow
The pupils of Furaha Primary School were very excited. Their teacher, Madam Wanjiru, had told them they would plant a school garden. Many of the children had never grown vegetables before. They imagined rows of green plants growing tall and strong. Together, they cleared a small patch of land behind their classrooms and prepared the soil for planting.
Madam Wanjiru divided the class into groups. Each group was given a different vegetable to grow, such as kale, spinach and tomatoes. The pupils dug small holes, dropped in the seeds and covered them gently with soil. After that, they watered the garden every morning before lessons began and again in the cool evening before going home.
At first, nothing seemed to happen, and some pupils felt impatient. But after a week, tiny green shoots pushed through the soil. The children were delighted. They weeded the garden, chased away hungry birds and made sure the plants had enough water. Slowly, the vegetables grew bigger and healthier with each passing day.
When the vegetables were finally ready, the pupils harvested them with great pride. The school cook used the fresh vegetables to prepare a delicious meal for everyone. The pupils learned that growing food took patience and teamwork. They also discovered that working together made even a hard task feel enjoyable and rewarding.
