Any two of the following, well explained, 2 marks each (1 mark for the point, 1 mark for the explanation) (4 marks): - The weekly khutba educates Muslims on their faith and on current issues (e.g. drug abuse, peaceful elections, family life), increasing their knowledge and awareness. - It brings Muslims of the area together every week, strengthening unity and brotherhood as members meet and know one another. - Rich and poor, leaders and ordinary people stand in the same rows, promoting equality and humility. - It expiates minor sins committed between one Jum'a and the next, provided major sins are avoided (Muslim, narrated by Abu Huraira), purifying the soul. - It gives an opportunity to learn of the sick, the bereaved and the needy and to collect charity for them, promoting care for one another. - Attending on time builds discipline and punctuality. - Friday contains an hour in which du'a is accepted (Bukhari and Muslim, narrated by Abu Huraira), encouraging Muslims to turn to Allah (S.W.T.). - It renews remembrance of Allah (S.W.T.) and taqwa in the middle of worldly work (Qur'an 62:9-10).
