Marking scheme
1 mark per point, maximum 3. - 'I' is the subject form of the pronoun, but here the pronoun is the object of the preposition 'to'. - After a preposition (or as the object of a verb) the object form 'me' is required; the test is to drop 'Wekesa and' – 'gave the certificates to I' is clearly wrong. - Correct version: 'The head teacher gave the certificates to Wekesa and me.' The rewrite must be exact for its mark.

Marking scheme
1 mark per point, maximum 4. - A reflexive pronoun is the object of the verb or preposition and refers back to the subject, showing that the doer and the receiver of the action are the same. - Example: 'The toddler burnt herself on the jiko.' - An emphatic (intensive) pronoun adds stress to a noun or pronoun already in the sentence and can be removed without spoiling the grammar. - Example: 'The governor himself opened the milk cooling plant.' Accept any correct original examples; the forms are the same, so the explanation of function carries the marks.
