    (3 marks)

    Marking scheme

Award 1 mark per point, maximum 3: 1. Give it a short, bold heading in large print so that it can be read from a distance. 2. Include only the essential facts - the event, the date, the time, the venue and the charges, if any - and keep the wording brief. 3. Use an attention-catching slogan or a striking phrase, and leave enough white space so that the poster does not look crowded. 4. Use an illustration or a colour scheme that suits the event and helps the reader identify it at a glance. 5. Name the organiser or give a contact so that an interested reader knows whom to approach. Accept any three. A point about the layout and a point about the content may both be credited.

    (5 marks)

    Marking scheme

Award 1 mark per point, maximum 5: 1. A clear heading naming the club and the word NOTICE. 2. A title stating the event, for example, tree-planting exercise. 3. The date and the day of the exercise. 4. The starting time, and where useful the time it will end. 5. The venue or the assembly point. 6. What members should carry or wear, for example, jembes, water containers and games kit. 7. The name, signature and designation of the writer, and the date the notice was written. Accept any five.
